Out with the old..

Had a lot of heartache last year and a little fall out.  With one, whom I find annoying and self centred and has lack of respect for the rest of the gang.  But, being nice that everyone is, everyone except me, accepted this person's flaws.
I would have tolerated her more.  Unfortunately, I saw her oldest and closest friend's hubby 'back stabbed' for the approval of a new friend.  Which coincided with the onset of self righteousness and meeting new group of people.  This was also when I got hurt.  When the rest of the gang went home for raya, I was not invited to the raya get-together organised by her.  I was 'forgotten' and she even said she thought I was a chinese girl. So to me, it was apparent that she was pleasing her new group of friends that I am 'out of mind, out of sight'! Some friend.
When I told Z and S about this, they said, she probably didn't realize what she did coz she is a bit tactless and tend to do what suits her without regard for others.  They have in fact been ignoring her annoying habits  and put up with her all these while.
Hmm..I don't think I have the same patience though.
What made things worst was when her new 'best friend forever', after about 7 months, left for Malaysia and out of the blue, we got a Fb message asking us out for coffee.Eugh!
Anyway, today, I braved myself to see the other Malaysians, when invited for lunch at this guy's house.
It was a pleasant surprise when there was at least 3 other people that I saw today, who were really nice and warm towards me.
I know..I know..starting over and losing them again after 3 years.  The same old thing.  But I have a good feeling about some of this people.
Maybe it's time to make new group of friends.  Wish me luck!

Special areas

I am the sort of person who likes to have an area, to leave my books, bags, worn clothes, shoes etc.  Not necessary all in one place.  But those stuff should be untouched.  No one should try and tidy them, put them away, or even look at them!  They are mine and should be left alone. :D

For years, I had my little 'areas' until Mr comes into my life.  He doesn't like clutter.  A good thing really, except that, I like 'my clutter' and don't like him 'messing' with them.  Ha ha.  Not so easy meh.

So my 'areas' had to be organised, to fit our life.

We now have a shoe cabinet, 'his' and 'hers'.

A separate place for work bag.

And for my clothes, they just get chucked into my side of the wardrobe and door closed ;D

He also has a study room, coz he defo need one.

In the beginning, I thought I don't need one coz I am not planning to do any hardcore studying.  However, it left me so disorganised.  All letters, paperwork etc get dumped in a corner.

After about a year of misery, I now have mine too.

It's time to pause and reflect

Quoted from Mark Twain. This will be the title of my new blog. It would be like an e-portfolio from now on,so that I can do it wherever I go. The previous ones,I'll just keep in the hard drive. I will check on the format though so that it will be a bit professional. And I have to learn how to link it with articles, journals etc. Good Luck to me!

Not so lucky!

What do I know about laptops eh??  Nothing!  Nada!  All I know is that if it looks good - I want it!!!  But of course there's the matter of our limited budget.  So,straight away, the Apple kind is out of reach.  Eventhough,I have always loved the Apple interface from many years ago.  From when Apple looked like this:

I actually mean the Original all-white version that look like this one from Google Image.
Everytime we go into the electrical stores, I would play with the lovely large interface and shiny fruit-like.  But of course, if it's not within your budget, then it's not for you.

Anyway, we've had a few laptops over the years.  Sony viao that we got from eBay.  Ot has external CD drive and Disc drive.  A Dell in grey that had so many lives, it practically survived for almost 7years!  A Toshiba, also in grey, that Igot in a hurry, during the year as a 'weekend wife'.  So crap and slow that you wouldn't believe how many times we threaten to smash it to pieces!  Then a Dell in red.  The one in grey was far superior in build but the red one was reliable enough.  For a year, it was 'in hiding'.  This was when we had works done to our current house.
Finally, I succumbed to the need to have a workspace, hence the need for my own laptop.
We waited and waited and waited and after so many months and missing on a couple of fantastic offers, I decided to get this Packard Bell.  Then, after DH installed antivirus etc, few days later, great deal was posted on HotUKDeals!  Typical huh!  I felt like sending this one back!  But it was too late.  It has been registered etc.  So, no-can-do!  BOOO...!!!

Nevermind.  Tak de rezeki!  I will get use to this one I'm sure.  I'm liking it already. :D

I am so never going to keep my blog updated. And will probably not sort out my workspace at home too!Haha..
So much for taking time off in October.A week even. All I did then, was sort my posts and got rid of the BMJ plastic wrapper, so that I can pile them high.I really have to cancel the stupid BMA.Paying 400pounds for nothing. And I never read the mags.Maybe I should explore the online journals. That's probably better!
Anyway, I got myself a new laptop!First time a Packard Bell.Shiny red.Intel core i3.Good enough for me.The idea is so that I can sort m self out.Now sitting here, in the front room, thinking about what to do with the space and I am freezing cold.Brr..temperatures dropping to subzero.I need to look for a radiator soon!!

Or have actually bought a lot of stuff, but because they are cute, lovely or I just can't bear to part ways with them, I ended up keeping them for myself.hikhik. I do this all the time. Guilty! Well now, should I start? How do I do this? Do I have to update my blog all the time now? Do I start a new blog? Argh!! I dunno...help!!

Lamb..slow roast or grilled?

Yumm..I love lamb.

In the past, we used to buy lamb cubes especially to make lamb curry.
If we want it grilled or roasted, we'll get lamb leg or shoulder or ribs.Nowadays, half only ok.(We used to eat the whole lamb leg or shoulder or ribs between us two :P and finished it to the bone.Dah tua-tua ni sedar sikit la tak leh makan lamb banyak sangat!).

The other half,is cut into small pieces for lamb curry, which is more interesting than the cubes. We've even tried the cut from the neck which is not so bad and so much cheaper too.

So if it is grilled or roasted, we'll have it with Mr's special mash potatoes or yorkshire pud, and salad of some sort to balance it out.
It's either me or Mr will do the cooking. It's all the same to me but Mr is a fussy-pot,so he tends to want to take charge, so go nuts la!

Anyway, some people like it rare or medium.I like it well done. The crispier and chewy the better.

Now more recently,I came across Lamb Tagine. It's a Moroccoan dish cooked in the special clay triangular shaped dish and cooked slowly.I think this is used in Turkey and Lebanese too..ermm..just guessing tho'.It is mixed in herbs and spices. The lamb is so gentle and tender that it just come away from the bone and this makes it juicy too.But I have to say that I don't really like that way.

Today, Mr tried slow roasted (4 hours in the oven meh) lamb leg, marinated in barbeque sauce, pepper and paprika. This time we tried vol-au-vont with salmon, carrots and tomatoes filling to accompany the dish. And sure enough, it was just tender and juicy and all that.
The verdict for me,I didn't enjoy it as much :O coz I miss the crispy and chewy bits..
Oh well. There's always the next time. And maybe it's not so bad having a variety eh?
